Do it. Do I need to say any more?

Ok, I will. Your staff needs to have regular training. Things that are new, things that are old, things that they do or things that they don’t do. Make it a positive experience and show them that you want them to feel confident in their job and you are helping them keep their skills high.

Get the team to train each other. It doesn’t have to always be you in ‘lecture mode’. The more positive and fun you can make it, the more beneficial it will be for all. Even if that just means you order in pizza while you are doing the training.

Do team building training, not just skill based training. Make it something your staff want to come to, not something they feel obligated to attend.

Everyone gets lazy and a bit slack. Standards will drop and shortcuts will be taken. Having regular team training will keep this to a minimum and will let your team know that you care about them.

stackedpaperback_893x812You do need to make it a positive experience, because if all that happens when they come to team training is that they get in trouble, then it will have a massively negative impact on your staff and of course your business.

When was the last time you did team training? Ask your team what they’d like to train on? Get them involved to see even great results.
