Have you heard that saying that if you are not growing, then you are dying?

Well that is the case in business.  You need to be continually learning so that your business is growing, not dying.

When I say this, I often have franchisees or business owners say to me, ‘Learning, what am I supposed to learn?’

To be honest, this kind of always has me thinking because I’m like there is SO MUCH to learn.  What there is to learn is not the same for everyone, but there are so many things you can learn.

I’m finding now, like right now, I’m doing a lot of learning around social media.  It is still really a ‘new format’ and there is so much changing an!d so many new ideas, there is always something to learn with it.

What else could you be learning about?

What about marketing or sales?  What about better financial control?  What about running a more efficient team or managing your time more?  What about something technical within your business?  What about simply learning what other franchisees are doing and how that is helping them?

Here’s a big one…. What about learning more about yourself?  How to be a better leader in your business?  What about learning how to manage your own mindset?

Learning can be from reading a blog (like this) or reading a book or listening to an audio book or a podcast.  It could be attending a workshop or seminar or watching an online video or webinar.  Maybe it is simply having a cup of coffee with a mentor or another franchisee.

You can learn anywhere and at any time.  It does not mean you have to go off and get a formal education or get your MBA, learning doesn’t have to be ‘school based’.  Learning can even be as simple as sitting with a blank notebook and a pen and allowing your own thoughts to come through and learning from yourself!

So if you haven’t done any learning this week, get to it.  You can learn something major in a matter of minutes – if you are open it!
